Wow, it's the middle of April already, this year is just flying by! We have had several lunch dates, Jared and I had a dinner date at Gojo's one night, we enjoyed Easter with family, and got Addyson's 9 month pictures taken. For Easter we went to my mom's, my dad and Penny's, and Jared's parents. Easter morning it was cold so Jared brought up Addy's goodies from the Easter bunny and we snuggled in bed. She had eggs with money for her piggy bank and a floatie for the water this summer. Jared and I got her a new outfit. It was a relaxing morning Addy wore her Easter dress that Jared picked out awhile ago and had 2 Easter egg hunts and loved to shake the eggs. She also got some goodies and more change/money for her piggy bank. She has been teething and was pretty fussy and kept waking up frequently at night. We can see a white bump where a tooth is about to come through on top, it just needs to break through already! Last week we went for her 9 month check up (no shots this time -yay!!) She is doing great, she weighed 15 lbs, 12 oz and is in the 5th%ile for weight and was 26.5 inches so almost 25%ile for height. Last Wednesday the 11th, Addy said "da-da" for the first time, it sounded like it but I wasn't sure then on Thursday she said it twice during the day and while I was at work I got a text from Jared saying he heard her and he was so happy. Now for the past few days that is her favorite word and she says it over and over again. Also on Thursday night, Jared was cleaning (yes I know I am one lucky girl) and Addy wanted his attention so she would yell "Hey, Hey" and Jared said she was just too funny. On Monday Addy began waving bye-bye, and clapping with excitement. We have been walking a lot and working out. Addy loves to be outside and after a couple weeks of not seeing her boyfriend Jordan, we have seen him more lately. He is 2 months younger then Addy and lives across from us. They are so much fun to watch. On Monday night Jared went to the Royals game so Addy and I were going to walk and the neighbors were out so we visited with them for over an hour instead. The kiddos were so entertaining, Addy would pull Jordan's hair, socks, and take his bottle and Jordan would grab her jacket or arm and also lay his head in her lap. They would babble and then yell back and forth. He will army crawl but not sit and Addy sits but refuses to crawl. Addy has been pulling herself up more and does a really good job of it in the pack and play (it is still at the half-way level, but not for long!) She finds a way to scoot or turn on her bottom to get what she wants. She also still loves to stand and is walking more and more with holding our fingers or pushing her toys. She got some adorable purple and gray tennis shoes from Great grandma and they help her be more sturdy on her feet. I'm sure it won't be long now before we are having to get the baby gates up!

March Madness
Wow what a month March was! It began with Addy and I going to see my friend Christine and her new baby, then Jared and I traded in his truck and got a Sequoia (SUV) and we love it!! Between working, lunch and dinner dates, play dates, getting Addy's pictures taken, and going on our first long trip, the month flew by! Brett and Kelly found out they are having a girl, and we can't wait to meet Miss Hannah Jane in August!! We left at 6pm Thurs March 22nd and drove all night to Louisiana where our friends Punkin (John) and Cindy live. My mom and brother went with us, after all it was Jason's idea to go as he wanted to go somewhere fun for Spring Break this year. We got to their house around 8am Friday morning and I have to say Addyson did very well, sleeping most of the trip down (which is what we were hoping for!) After resting for a bit, we went for a ride to see their friends' new home they were building on the Bayou. We saw an alligator sunning itself on their neighbor's property, then went for a boat ride and saw a couple more gators. This was Addy's first boat ride and she was not happy about having to wear her lifejacket! That night Cindy made us an amazing dinner of fried catfish and shrimp pasta with a delious alfredo sauce, it was so good we had the rest for breakfast the next day! Saturday we drove about 45 minutes south to New Orleans to show mom the city. Addy went on her first ferry ride, had lunch at Drago's, walked down Bourbon Street where she clapped her hands for the first time, went to the french quarter, and then through the drive through Daquiri shop before going back to the house, it was a beautiful day and we enjoyed it and are glad crazy Larry came to meet us too! Addy also learned 2 more new things, waving (with both hands) and sticking her tongue out :) On Sunday we went back to their friend's and they boiled crawfish and had a get together... and it wasn't just a few either, it was 150 pounds of crawfish!! It was delicious, and it was mom and Jason's first time eating it. Jason was so proud of himself as he was told he could eat them "like a pro". We then went on a boat ride again and Addy still cried with her life jacket, but did better on the way back. Monday the 26th, we ran errands, got 37 pounds of shrimp to bring home, went to the cemetary to take balloons to Garret and Addy got to let them go, and then drove home that night. We had a great time and appreciate everything, but wish we could have stayed longer and been able to stay there a week later for the Final Four tournament to cheer on our Jayhawks! Addy was great during the drives but man was she glad to be home and out of her carseat. My mom swears she said "yay!!" We ended the month with more lunch and dinner get togethers and I worked the weekend. We weighed Addy and on the 30th she was 15.4 pounds, 27 inches. She is still in 6 month clothes and can even wear a few 3 month stuff still, and is still in size 2 diapers. She loves Peek-a-boo, songs with gestures like itsy bitsy spider and where is thumbkin. She is stubborn and has no desire to crawl, but tries to stand getting on one knee and then not able to get her other foot turned right to get up on it. She loves to stand and play with her leap frog table and doll stroller. She loves the outdoors and we go for walks a lot, and she loves to swing. We love watching her explore and are enjoying her so much!

Finally Finishing February
Well here it is April and I realized I didn't blog at all in March, time has certainly gotten away from me and we have been busy busy bees. February ended with my mom taking a day off work to go shopping with Addy and me. Addy got tons of stuff that day, everything to wear from head to toe and more! We went to my dad and Penny'sSun Feb 26th, where Addy went on a tractor ride with papa and got to sit on a motorcycle. She loved looking at her reflection in the gas cap. That night after we got home, Addy said her first word, and it was MOMMA!! Poor daddy was so disappointed! He denied hearing her that night but the next night, I was sitting in the chair on my phone while she was playing and he came down the stairs and she looked at me and said "momma". I said to Jared, "see she said momma!" He hung his head down and with such a sad face said I heard her say it last night. We ended the month with me going to a baby shower dinner for 2 of my co-workers and then dinner with friends.

Addy Update
Wow! What an interesting last couple of weeks this has been. Since the last blog, Addy had her 7 month pictures taken and decided she did not want to smile, she was a little turkey and 4 different people came in the room to try to get her to smile but she just didn't want to. She didn't cry or anything, it was pretty comical. Later that night we went out to dinner with grandma Vicki and Addy was a big girl and ate her dinner in the high chair at the restaurant. Sat Feb 11th, we enjoyed a lazy day at home because Addy was fussy (from teething) Papa and Jason came by for a visit and Addy was cranky. The next day we headed to Nana and Papa's house for dinner. For Addy's 1st Valentine's Day, we met daddy for lunch since I had to work that night. We went to Mr. Goodcents. Addy got a lot of Valentine's cards from friends and family and some goodies as well :) Jared and I usually just get what we want throughout the year so we got each other cards and he also got me my favorite candy, Jolly Ranchers. We celebrated with dinner out the following Saturday while Addy went to grandma's for some fun. February 15th, Addy FINALLY got her 1st tooth. She had been drooling, chewing on everything, and fussy for awhile. We had lunch with a couple girls from my work last week and enjoyed that. I had never been to Noodles and Co and my meal was very good. Last Friday night our friends Cathy and Roy and 2 of their kids came over for dinner and to visit and we enjoyed catching up, it was long overdue! We had a lazy day last Saturday and then Jared and I had our dinner date Saturday night. We went to Olive Garden and then to JC Penny's. Jared picked out Addy's Easter dress and we got her a couple other outfits. We enjoyed our time together and when we got to my mom's, Addy was so excited to see us. Mom said she kept looking all around for us and wouldn't really smile for her. The next day we went to Jared's parents again for dinner. Yesterday Addy's 2nd tooth came in. She slept so good Tuesday night (almost 10 hours) and was in such a good mood yesterday and even took an hour nap in her crib.We hope that now she will continue sleeping better for awhile! She has been breastfeeding pretty much every 3 hours during the day now, which is a lot better than every other hour. She loves her oatmeal and rice cereal, but we are having trouble getting her to eat her fruits and veggies. We gave her some ham and gravy this week and today some chicken and noodles. She clamps her mouth closed and does not want to open despite trying to make her laugh or cry to open her mouth. Stubborn already! (Not sure where she gets that from at all ;) ) We weighed her here at home the other day and she was 14.6 pounds and 26.5 inches, which means in a month's time she has grown about 1 inch! She is in mostly 6 month clothes, size 2 diapers, and had not had a pacifier for at least 3 weeks or so. She really only took it when she was tired anyways, and then with teething I think she just didn't want it. She has been sucking on her fingers and once in a while her thumb, but usually prefers everything else in her mouth. She loves for me to sing Pattycake and for us to play peekaboo. Still not a fan of her stomach and does not show any interest in crawling, but is getting braver when we stand her up to her learn to walk toy, and loves to stand with our help. We love her so much and can't believe how much she has changed these past few weeks and she makes us laugh every day. We are truly blessed and are so thankful for these special moments with our little girl!

One thing I forgot to mention in my long post was about going out to dinner with Brett and Kelly a couple weeks ago... Addy had been sitting in her high chair and was getting restless so Jared was holding her on his lap. Well, the waiter had just refilled Jared's water and Addy was quick to reach for it and pull it towards her, knocking the glass over and it went all over Jared. It was quite funny! He didn't think she could reach it and thought it would be heavy for her, but no.... so lesson learned, keep stuff far away from the edge from now on!

7 months old Already!
Whoa, not sure where the last month has gone and sorry for not doing any updates since then. We have been both busy and lazy at times. Since the 6 month post we have done several lunch dates with friends and family, I got a pedicure with my best friend Sara, we got Addy's 6 month pics taken (and now need to get her 7 month ones done), we have had some lazy days at home, and she tried all the vegetables and moved on to fruits, her favorites were peas and prunes. (I know, what a combo!) Of course we have hit a brick wall for now, my sweet baby girl has decided to become a little difficult at times, a little stubborn...(hmmm where does she get that from... not me at all! Ha!) you see she absolutely loves her Oatmeal for breakfast and Rice Cereal before bed, but she does NOT want anything to do with the fruits and vegetables. She clamps her gums down and shakes her head back and forth and will not budge until you set the spoon down away from her. Of course I manage to side track her and slip a bite or two in but she gets so mad and flings her food everywhere. I knew this would probably come, I am blaming it on her sore, swollen gums for now. She is trying to get her two bottom teeth and you can feel them ready to break the skin, she is chomping on her fingers and arm and anything else she can gnaw on and had a two week span where she would wake up throughout the night. Knock on wood she has been sleeping 7+ hour stretches again for the past few nights. We either let her fall asleep in her crib, or if she falls asleep while eating her last time before bed, we put her down shortly after and she normally does very well.
Now for something she really dislikes... naptime! She will take a nap on us and be comfortable for an hour or longer but if we lay her down she either wakes up right away or within 20-25 minutes usually. (Yes daddy spoiled her by holding her for naps!) We have tried the crib, the pack and play, our bed, So I began a quest this week to do naptimes in her crib, we are not very successful thus far but I keep trying, I have tried letting her cry it out by herself, consoling her by talking, singing, etc and even rocking which we really haven't done much of. She wants no part of any of it, however if we are in the car she is usually out before we get where we are going and then wakes up shortly after we stop moving. I am also trying to spread out her feeds from every 2 hours to every 3 during the day and since Sunday we have been doing well. I have been trying the baby wise method where they eat, play, then sleep and you do it over again except at bedtime and the middle of the night feeds. I had gotten the book and started it several months ago but really didn't stick to it so hopefully this time is better, so far it is!
Addy is also throwing her toys when she is done playing with them in her high chair, sometimes she tries to hide it and toss them down the leg holes and other times she flings them. I am trying my best to not laugh and tell her no, and to move on to something else.
Over the past few weeks, Addy has had the chance to be around other little ones for short periods of time. We had dinner out with my friend Holly and her husband Russ and their adorable little girl Camille a few weeks ago. Holly and I have known each other since kindergarten, we had different friends in middle school and high school, but reconnected last year on facebook and have lunch dates almost monthly. Camille is 16 months now and her and Addy just looked at each other and were so cute. After dinner, both girls were ready to go. Next time we will get together at one of our houses to make it easier on the kids and us. A couple weeks ago we went to Ark City for the night to see friends Ellen, Bret, and Chloe. We had to take maternity clothes and baby stuff back to Ellen as they are expecting again! Chloe is going to be an awesome big sister. She was so interested in Addy and I will upload some pics of our visit. We had a fun time and enjoyed seeing them. It is definitely different traveling with a little one, for a one night visit, we looked like we were moving in! We also had a lunch date with my friend Megan and Colton, he is a month older than Addy and she was playing hard to get already. Colton would like at her and she would look away. It was funny to watch! They are coming over in a couple weeks for a play date. Addy met our neighbor across the street after our walk one day. His name is Jordan and he is 6 weeks younger than Addy. At first they weren't interested in each other and then once they decided they were ok, they kept touching each other and tried to hold hands and talk baby talk. It was so adorable! I told Jordan no dating til they were 30 lol! Jared was sick a couple weeks ago, so we had a quiet weekend at home and mom and I got caught up on Addy's scrapbook. I had just been piling stuff in her closet for it, well we made 110 pages in a week and got caught up from finding out we were pregnant to her 6 months. I am proud of it and hope she enjoys it one day. Mom, Addy, and I made a quick trip down to see Uncle Jason in Pittsburg, and we had a good visit with him.
Jan 25th was Addy's 6 month check up and she got 4 shots. She was such a trooper! She weighed 14.1 pounds 10-25%ile, was 25.5 inches long 25-50%ile, and head circumference was 16.5 inches 25-50%ile. We go back the end of the month for her 2nd flu shot ( they get 2 during the first year) and then go back at 9 months for a check up. She is still finishing her last box of size 1-2 diapers, and they are getting snug so size 2's here we come soon! She is in most 6 month clothes and can still where a few 3 month onesies. She loves walking in her stroller and sitting up on the floor playing, as well as holding our fingers and taking a few steps at a time. She is getting better with the sippy cup and drinking a few sips of water at a time. She continues to hate tummy time and rolls over when I put her on her tummy. I keep trying but it's not her cup of tea. I hope to be better about blogging so you don't have so much to read at once. I will post another post with pics from the past month.
