Whoa, not sure where the last month has gone and sorry for not doing any updates since then. We have been both busy and lazy at times. Since the 6 month post we have done several lunch dates with friends and family, I got a pedicure with my best friend Sara, we got Addy's 6 month pics taken (and now need to get her 7 month ones done), we have had some lazy days at home, and she tried all the vegetables and moved on to fruits, her favorites were peas and prunes. (I know, what a combo!) Of course we have hit a brick wall for now, my sweet baby girl has decided to become a little difficult at times, a little stubborn...(hmmm where does she get that from... not me at all! Ha!) you see she absolutely loves her Oatmeal for breakfast and Rice Cereal before bed, but she does NOT want anything to do with the fruits and vegetables. She clamps her gums down and shakes her head back and forth and will not budge until you set the spoon down away from her. Of course I manage to side track her and slip a bite or two in but she gets so mad and flings her food everywhere. I knew this would probably come, I am blaming it on her sore, swollen gums for now. She is trying to get her two bottom teeth and you can feel them ready to break the skin, she is chomping on her fingers and arm and anything else she can gnaw on and had a two week span where she would wake up throughout the night. Knock on wood she has been sleeping 7+ hour stretches again for the past few nights. We either let her fall asleep in her crib, or if she falls asleep while eating her last time before bed, we put her down shortly after and she normally does very well.
Now for something she really dislikes... naptime! She will take a nap on us and be comfortable for an hour or longer but if we lay her down she either wakes up right away or within 20-25 minutes usually. (Yes daddy spoiled her by holding her for naps!) We have tried the crib, the pack and play, our bed, So I began a quest this week to do naptimes in her crib, we are not very successful thus far but I keep trying, I have tried letting her cry it out by herself, consoling her by talking, singing, etc and even rocking which we really haven't done much of. She wants no part of any of it, however if we are in the car she is usually out before we get where we are going and then wakes up shortly after we stop moving. I am also trying to spread out her feeds from every 2 hours to every 3 during the day and since Sunday we have been doing well. I have been trying the baby wise method where they eat, play, then sleep and you do it over again except at bedtime and the middle of the night feeds. I had gotten the book and started it several months ago but really didn't stick to it so hopefully this time is better, so far it is!
Addy is also throwing her toys when she is done playing with them in her high chair, sometimes she tries to hide it and toss them down the leg holes and other times she flings them. I am trying my best to not laugh and tell her no, and to move on to something else.
Over the past few weeks, Addy has had the chance to be around other little ones for short periods of time. We had dinner out with my friend Holly and her husband Russ and their adorable little girl Camille a few weeks ago. Holly and I have known each other since kindergarten, we had different friends in middle school and high school, but reconnected last year on facebook and have lunch dates almost monthly. Camille is 16 months now and her and Addy just looked at each other and were so cute. After dinner, both girls were ready to go. Next time we will get together at one of our houses to make it easier on the kids and us. A couple weeks ago we went to Ark City for the night to see friends Ellen, Bret, and Chloe. We had to take maternity clothes and baby stuff back to Ellen as they are expecting again! Chloe is going to be an awesome big sister. She was so interested in Addy and I will upload some pics of our visit. We had a fun time and enjoyed seeing them. It is definitely different traveling with a little one, for a one night visit, we looked like we were moving in! We also had a lunch date with my friend Megan and Colton, he is a month older than Addy and she was playing hard to get already. Colton would like at her and she would look away. It was funny to watch! They are coming over in a couple weeks for a play date. Addy met our neighbor across the street after our walk one day. His name is Jordan and he is 6 weeks younger than Addy. At first they weren't interested in each other and then once they decided they were ok, they kept touching each other and tried to hold hands and talk baby talk. It was so adorable! I told Jordan no dating til they were 30 lol! Jared was sick a couple weeks ago, so we had a quiet weekend at home and mom and I got caught up on Addy's scrapbook. I had just been piling stuff in her closet for it, well we made 110 pages in a week and got caught up from finding out we were pregnant to her 6 months. I am proud of it and hope she enjoys it one day. Mom, Addy, and I made a quick trip down to see Uncle Jason in Pittsburg, and we had a good visit with him.
Jan 25th was Addy's 6 month check up and she got 4 shots. She was such a trooper! She weighed 14.1 pounds 10-25%ile, was 25.5 inches long 25-50%ile, and head circumference was 16.5 inches 25-50%ile. We go back the end of the month for her 2nd flu shot ( they get 2 during the first year) and then go back at 9 months for a check up. She is still finishing her last box of size 1-2 diapers, and they are getting snug so size 2's here we come soon! She is in most 6 month clothes and can still where a few 3 month onesies. She loves walking in her stroller and sitting up on the floor playing, as well as holding our fingers and taking a few steps at a time. She is getting better with the sippy cup and drinking a few sips of water at a time. She continues to hate tummy time and rolls over when I put her on her tummy. I keep trying but it's not her cup of tea. I hope to be better about blogging so you don't have so much to read at once. I will post another post with pics from the past month.
