One Year Ago

It's so hard to believe it was one year ago tonight we found out I was pregnant and I asked Jared if he was ready to be a daddy. It seems like just yesterday, but man has this past year flown by and provided us with numerous changes, and the most amazing experience that words can't begin to describe. We are so thankful and feel so incredibly blessed for all that God has provided for us. We love and cherish our precious girl and can't imagine life without her in it. It is so amazing to see the world through her eyes and have someone hold your finger, look you in the eyes with all the wonder and amazement, and give you smile after smile while blowing bubbles. Becoming parents has been the most rewarding job one can imagine and is such a wonderful feeling.  Yes, there are days when sleep seems a thing of the past and you can't just get up and go BUT it is all worth it. Here are a few pics from one year ago until now.

More Pics with Punkin

Punkin's Visit

Our friend Punkin (John) from Louisiana came to visit us and meet Addy this week. He flew in Wed and goes home tomorrow :(  6 years ago, Punkin and Cindy came with their son Garret to KU to see a GI specialist and I was their nurse's aide. This was right after hurricane Katrina, and a short trip turned into 6 weeks at KU with Garret going to the ICU for awhile and back to the floor. They weren't prepared for the freezing weather and spending the holidays away from home so my family and I took them winter coats and Thanksgiving dinner, along with some snacks. This began a great friendship that will last forever. Garret went to Heaven 5 years ago, but what an amazing boy he was and he touched so many lives and that is who brought us together and for that I am forever thankful. We miss him like crazy but know he is looking down and watching over us.
Wednesday night we went to my dad and Penny's for dinner, Thursday we went to KU so Punkin could see Father Spencer who he became close to when Garret was in the hospital for so long, and went to the Peds unit, then we went to lunch with Grandma and Brett and had a nice afternoon and evening with dinner at home. Friday Jared took off and we all went to lunch and the zoo, Jason came with us and we had a fun and busy day, then we went out to dinner and shopping. Addy got a jumperoo from Punkin and loves it! Saturday we went to Louisburg to the Cedar Cove Feline Sanctuary and got to see some big and small cats and were also there for feeding time. It was neat! On our way home we stopped at the Cider Mill for donuts and cider and then it was time to head home to get ready for our Taco Party with friends. Mom, Jason, Sara, Jordan, Brett, and Kelly came out and we had a fun time visiting and watching football and LSU won, while the Wildcats lost. Today we had Todd, Carrie, Tyler, and Trevor over for lunch and some Chiefs football (unfortunately they lost but Uncle Brett was glad because the Dolphins are his team!) We are headed to my in-laws after bit to visit and have dinner. We are so glad Punkin came to see us and can"t believe he has to go tomorrow. He keeps saying he is taking Addy home with him, her Papa said oh no, you can't! LOL :) Addy is tired from running all over but has been so good this weekend. She rolled over awhile ago from stomach to back, well now she is rolling over from back to stomach and has been showing off! She is so much fun :)

End of October

I am going to do several shorter posts as we have had a busy week with lots going on. Saturday Oct 29th we had family pictures with Jared's family and then dinner, later that night Addy, my mom, and I went to the American Royal Rodeo and Reba McIntire concert at Sprint Center while Jared played poker with friends. Addy was so alert and looking around the majority of the time with a couple cat naps. For Halloween, I made Addy's costume, a chili pepper. I had to work so  we didn't go out, but all the grandparents got to see her. Here are some pictures:
